This procedure can be done with general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation. Facial implants come in different shapes and sizes to meet your needs and can be used to augment your jaw, chin, or lips. 

To insert a facial implant, Dr. Rosen makes an incision inside your upper lip or inside your lower eyelid, forming a pocket for the implant and securing it in place. For a non-invasive cheek augmentation procedure, Dr. Rosen performs wrinkle filler injections into the cheek area. A filler like Restylane or Juvederm can restore facial volume and provide temporary results similar to surgical cheek augmentation. Because the latest wrinkle fillers contain lidocaine (an anesthetic), discomfort is minimized.
